Class Descriptions

At Cobra’s Taekwondo Training Centre we offer several different programs to fit each student’s needs.

Little Dragons Program (ages 4-6)
You will be amazed by the level of martial arts ability and confidence your child can achieve at this early age. We have geared this program specifically to the “unique” attention span of 4-6 year old children. The confidence and discipline your child develops now will stick with them for life.

Students will learn to show respect for others with a bow, saying encouraging comments to others, working and talking with adult teachers and helpers, to learn to introduce themselves to others, and learning to be partners with others.

While the students are having fun with games and relays, they are unknowingly developing motor skills appropriate for their age. This will include coordination skills, right and left side development, flexibility, muscle strength, timing, speed drills, mobility skills, etc. In addition, Taekwondo training is one of the best sports for overall development that will have benefits that will transfer to other sports.

You might consider the development of self confidence and self esteem as the culmination of all of the above points. Every Taekwondo student comes with specific goals and desires. By attaining these goals the student builds confidence and establishes higher goals, not just in Taekwondo, but also in life.

Children’s Program (ages 7-12)

Every parent wants their children to build confidence, show respect, learn goal setting and discipline. Every parent wants to watch their children improve school work and personal skills. But these are not easily taught simply by good parenting.

Our team of professional Martial arts educators (consisting of top level martial artists) is able to teach all the core values that every parent wants. We are there every step of the way – whether your goals are simply to build confidence, or all the way to competing at an international level, we are with you every step of the way.

Classes are taught in a fun and exciting environment, parents are invited to watch. Kids are motivated and excited to move forward every day.

Teenagers & Adults Class (ages 13-up)

We train our students to the best of their ability. Some students come to us in shape, while others come to us overweight looking to get in better physical shape. Many come to us with limited flexibility. Adults can start at any age. It does not matter when you start, you can still reach your potential and surpass it. As a student, you are looked upon as an individual, never compared to anyone else. We push each student to reach their personal goals and give their individul 100 percent each class. Our instructors will be there every step of the way. All that is expected of you is an open mind and the will to try!

Coach Ryan Formosa has been coaching athletes since 2000 and, since 2008 has coached/trained athletes to earn numerous national, provincial and international podiums.

Our athletes also regularly cross-train with teams in Ottawa, Quebec, Toronto and the United States to learn, develop, evolve and progress. The sport of Taekwondo is rapidly evolving constantly, and we strive to evolve along with it to make sure our athletes are well-suited to adapt to the changes.
